Dr Graham Ogle | Life for a Child with Diabetes

Dr Graham Ogle

Graham Ogle is a paediatrician working for HOPE worldwide (Australia). He is the Program Manager for the International Diabetes Federation Life for a Child Program, and also directs development work in Papua New Guinea. He is married with three children and lives in Sydney. Graham graduated from the University of Sydney with 1st class honours, and trained in paediatric endocrinology. In the 1990s Graham spent five years working in Papua New Guinea establishing 1993 HOPE worldwide (PNG), and 15 months in Phnom Penh, Cambodia as the founding Director of the Sihanouk Hospital Center of HOPE, which has become a centre of excellence for medical and surgical care and health professional training. Graham spends half of his time working in international diabetes. He is the Program Manager for the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) Life for a Child Program, which supports the care of children with diabetes in 17 countries. The program is also involved in capacity building of diabetes centres, and extensive international advocacy. Graham is a member of the IDF Task Force on Insulin, Test Strips and Other Diabetes Supplies and of the IDF Consultative Section on Childhood and Adolescent Diabetes. The remainder of Graham’s work is spent overseeing HOPE worldwide’s programmes in Papua New Guinea, where there are 80 staff working in primary health care, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, diabetes, rural health provision, school library and IT development, non-formal education, and agriculture.
